FILTERS
User-created objects for outlining real-world objects, displaying images on them, and interacting with dynamic 3D objects.

A filter always has two centers - the main center and the geometric center.
The main center is equal to the geometric center at the time the filter was created. After the filter points have been moved and the filter geometry has been changed, the geometric center of the filter is determined symmetrically relative to its side surfaces.

When the Show filter centers mode is selected, the main center is colored light blue, and the geometric center is colored blue.
ELEMENTS AND TYPES OF FILTERS
Filter screen
The filter screen is a flat front surface of variable geometry, which initially faces the viewer.
Videos can be displayed on the screen, their shape, color and transparency can be changed. The surface of the screens, as well as the side surfaces, is affected by the filter type when interacting with 3D objects.
Filter points
The filter points are the node points of the intersecting lines that form the screen and part of the side surfaces. By adding and removing points, changing their location, we can change the shape of the screen to outline the projection of the projector's light beam onto the real object.
Sides of the filter
The sidewalls limit the internal volume of the filter, being located at a right angle to the screen.
At the same time, the sidewalls not only help to better understand the geometry of the filter when viewing the scene in 3D mode. When changing the type of interaction of the filter with 3D objects, the sidewalls take on the role of a reflector, a trap, a transparent surface, or a destroyer of 3D objects.
Any filter can be moved to the foreground so that the control of its points cannot be blocked by other filters. This top layer of the filter is called the T-layer.
Filter depth on stage
The depth of the filter consists of two values: the distance from the viewer of the screen and the counter-screen, located symmetrically to the screen on the back side of the filter.
Both values are adjustable and allow you to change the internal volume of the filter and its location in the layers of the scene.
Filter type Reflector
The reflector throws back all 3D objects that fly in the scene space and collide with the side surfaces of the filter, the screen and the counter-screen of the filter.
On the control panel, the reflector is colored blue.
Filter type Trap
The trap captures all 3D objects that fly in the scene space and pass through the filter's side surfaces, screen and counter-screen.
The trap is colored orange on the control panel.
Filter type Transparent
The transparent filter passes through all 3D objects that fly in space.
It is used in cases where it is necessary to place a filter that does not affect flying 3D objects, for example, when setting a route by filter points.
On the control panel, the transparent filter is colored green.
Filter type Shredder
The destroyer removes from the scene all 3D objects that fly in the scene space and collide with the side surfaces of the filter, the screen and the counter-screen of the filter.
On the control panel, the destroyer is painted red.
Top filter
The Top Filter function is used to bring a filter to the foreground. It is used in cases where there are a large number of filters on the stage and their points overlap each other.
There can only be one Top Filter. When assigning another filter as the Top Filter, the previous one takes its specified position in the depth of the stage.
CREATING FILTERS
  1. Shift+Left mouse button on the scene
  2. Green button on the left filter control panel.
Selecting a filter type
Before creating a filter, you can select the type of its interaction with 3D objects:

  1. Reflector (blue)
  2. Trap (orange)
  3. Transparent (green)
  4. Destroyer (red)
After creating a filter, the filter type can be changed.
Selecting a depth for a new filter
For a new filter, you can set the depth of the screen and counter-screen. In the future, these depths of both filter surfaces can be changed.
Selecting the number of filter perimeter points
Allows you to select from three to one hundred points for new filters. The number of points can be changed after creating a filter.
Selecting a size for a new filter
On the settings panel for new filters, there is an option to define the size of the future filter. There are no rules on this - the filter size is selected based on the experience of using the program.
Selecting a filter position
When creating a filter, there are two ways to select the position of the filter on the stage:

  1. Shift + left mouse cursor at the desired point in the scene.
  2. Select a template from the left filter control panel. When you create a new filter, it will be located in the area provided by the template.
CHANGING THE FILTER
Moving a filter around the scene
By holding down the middle mouse button, the filter can be moved freely around the scene.
Adding filter points
Filter points are added between the green (active) and orange (the next active by number) points. The new point becomes green (active).
You can add points one by one or by drawing a line on which points will be formed as the mouse cursor moves.
To create points, hold down the Ctrl key + left mouse button.
If you move the cursor, the points will appear along its path until the point limit for the selected DINRAY 3D version is exhausted.
Removing filter points
You can delete filter points by holding down the Ctrl key + the right mouse button, hovering the cursor over the point to be deleted.
If you move the cursor, the points will be deleted along the cursor's path until there are three points left - the minimum possible number of filter points.
You can delete the last point created by pressing the Ctrl + Backspace keys.
Moving filter points
The point is moved by the mouse cursor while holding down the left mouse button. Point the cursor at the desired point, hold down the left mouse button and move the point to the desired position in the scene.
Make sure that the filter lines do not intersect. If the lines intersect, the video will not be displayed on the screen or may be displayed with errors.
Linking a filter point position to another point
To align a filter point relative to another point, you can hold down the left/right or up/down arrow and click on the point that will serve as an anchor. The current green point will move relative to the anchor horizontally or vertically, respectively, to the same level as the point you clicked on.
This function is needed to glue different filters and screens together without a gap between them.
Changing the filter depth
Changing the filter screen depth and counter-screen depth allows you to change the position of the filter in the scene layers and change its thickness, which affects the display of the filter screen in combination with other filters and the area of the side surfaces interacting with 3D objects.
Mirror change of filter position
The filter can be expanded vertically, horizontally, or simultaneously vertically and horizontally.
FILTER ROTATION
Button to allow rotation of all filters
Allows rotation of scene filters that have individual XYZ rotation speed settings.
Filter rotation centers
A filter always has two centers - the main and the geometric.
You can display these rotation centers using the Show Rotation Centers button. The main center is colored light blue, and the geometric center is colored blue.

The main center is the center that corresponds to the geometric center at the time the filter was created. After the filter geometry has been changed, the geometric center of the filter is determined symmetrically relative to its side surfaces.
Selecting the filter rotation center
The rotation of the filter can be set relative to any of its centers.
Moreover, the vertical rotation can be relative to the main center, and the horizontal rotation relative to the geometric one, and vice versa.
This allows you to set the horizontal or vertical movement of the filter on the scene simultaneously with the rotation effect.
Filter rotation speed
The rotation speed of the filter can be set by settings with detail for each of the three XYZ axes.
At the same time, in this part of the interface, you can set the starting angle of rotation of the filter along the three XYZ axes.
Current filter rotation angle
When rotating the filter, its angles change relative to the XYZ axes. You can find out the current angles of rotation of the filter using the filter rotation setting element.
